Crisis Support. Suicide Prevention.

Lifeline is committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope.  Our vision is for an Australia free of suicide.

Lifeline services are essential as suicide remains the leading cause of death for Australian’s aged between 15 and 44.   We know that 8 people die by suicide every day and 29 people attempt suicide every day.  For more and more Queenslanders, the stress caused by COVID-19 is overwhelming. With someone calling 13 11 14 for help every 30 seconds, Lifeline is answering more calls than ever before.  Answering every call is crucial.  We need your support to help us do this.

Lifeline provides unlimited support to all Australians, all day, every day.  Backed by more than 500 volunteers right across Queensland, we work hard to raise funds to keep the Lifeline phone lines open and saving lives.

We rely on the generous support of the community through philanthropic donations, gifts in wills, Lifeline Retail Shops and Bookfest events to keep the Lifeline phone lines open.  When you donate or fundraise for Lifeline you are helping to recruit, train and equip the Crisis Supporters who work tirelessly to provide hope and help to Australians who are in crisis or thinking about suicide.

If you or someone you know needs crisis support, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14, text 0477 13 11 14 or visit lifeline.org.au/gethelp.

If life is in danger, please call 000.
