Join us on Giving Day to help raise funds that can save lives.
We need a bunch of awesome volunteers to help us reach our community, family, friends, and colleagues on Giving Day.
Give just 2 hours of your day and we'll provide the fun, snacks, and entertainment. If you're keen to do more than 2 hours or jump in for two shifts at different times of the day, let us know!
With more incredible volunteers helping out on the day, we can do more good for more people.
So if you're happy to talk to anyone and everyone (don't worry this isn't cold calling) - and you want to help Lifeline be there for more people experiencing emotional distress and in times of crisis - register today.
Together, we can save lives.
Where will I be volunteering?
This year we have two Heartbeat Hubs to choose from.
The City Hub is at our Brisbane City office
- Level 5, 192 Ann St, Brisbane City
- Volunteer shifts will be available between 9am and 7pm
The Caboolture Hub is at our super warm and wonderful Blue Care Customer Service Centre located in Caboolture
- Address details for the Caboolture Hub will be shared with confirmed volunteers
- Volunteer shifts will be available between 10am and 2pm
Giving Day volunteers are at the heart of the day so we've created the Heartbeat Hub. There will be food, fun and a great atmosphere and we're encouraging everyone to come celebrate with us as we raise funds for Lifeline Queensland.
What will I be doing as a volunteer?
There is one main task to this volunteer opportunity - making calls to the extraordinary people who donate to Lifeline Queensland and our friends, family and communities to give them the opportunity to have their donation matched on Giving Day.
What's in it for me?
- You'll be giving your brain some love! Studies show that acts of kindness deliver a big happiness boost to your brain
- You'll get to connect with other people who care about mental health and suicide prevention
- You can use your corporate volunteering hours to help save lives
- Most importantly, you'll be making a meaningful difference for the thousands of Australians affected by suicide
What skills do I need?
You'll need to be confident with speaking English and comfortable talking to people from all walks of life. The people who donate to Lifeline are from lots of different ages, cultures, races and towns because suicide impacts the lives of so many people.
How long is the volunteer shift?
The Heartbeat Hub in Brisbane City will be running from 9am until 7pm and from 10am until 2pm in Caboolture. Volunteer shifts are 2 hours long but if you're keen to do more than one shift, let us know. The more funds we can raise on the day, the more we can do to prevent suicide and save lives.
What do I wear?
Wear whatever you're most comfortable in. We love seeing the amazing and unique ways people wear Lifeline colours at our events so get creative.
Will there be food and amenities?
Snacks will be provided for all of our amazing volunteers at the Heartbeat Hub and there are kitchen facilities and bathrooms available close by to the hub.
What is accessibility like for volunteers?
This space is accessible for wheelchair or mobility devices. We also have accessible toilets close by to the hub.
UnitingCare values diversity in our organisation and we have some principles in place that will help to promote both inclusion and access. If you have any other accessibility requirements, please let us know - [email protected]
