One in six Australians will consider suicide in their lifetime.
When you think of all the people you interact with on a daily basis, all the people you love and care about – that one in six could be any one of them.
Just $39 helps us answer a call from someone in crisis. But any amount makes a difference.
Thank you for giving anything you can to help the people in your life.
Here's what your donations will do
Answer a call for help
$39
It takes just $39 to fund a call to Lifeline's 13 11 14 Crisis Support Line. Donations on Giving Day were doubled to $78 to help fund two calls.
Continue a life-saving conversation
$50
$50 funds two conversations through Lifeline text. Doubled, that's $100 and four conversations with a Lifeline Crisis Supporter, thanks to matching funds on Giving Day.
Keep Lifeline's 13 11 14 Support Line open
$120
$120 can keep Lifeline's 13 11 14 Crisis Support Line open for an hour. Matched donations became $240 – keeping the lines open for two hours.
Sam would give anything to have her daughter back
Sam's daughter, Chloe died by suicide when she was 13 years old. Chloe had so much to give and so much life ahead of her. She was in the advanced class at school, affectionate at home, a lover of animals. But there were things that she wasn’t coping with, pain that her teenage brain couldn’t manage.
There’s a family, friends, a whole community who miss Chloe.
We can’t bring back the loved ones who die from suicide, but we can give the people still with us every help to stay.
We're so grateful for everyone who gave to help someone in their life.
How our Giving Day worked
Partners pledged their gift to match donations on Giving Day
Corporate partners, generous philanthropists and remarkable groups dedicated to supporting their communities made their pledged gift go further by matching donations from extraordinary people like you.
Extraordinary people donated and fundraised to make double the difference
From 8am until 8pm on Giving Day, 30 May, the funds raised and donated by our incredible Queensland community made double the difference for suicide prevention and support services.
More life-saving crisis support and suicide prevention services in Queensland
Thanks for helping save lives.
