Dr Clarrie Burke was well known for his dedication to teaching and as an activist for human rights. After gaining his PhD, he was published widely online and in influential publications.

He is remembered as a humanitarian and a role model to many. And we are honoured to be a part of Clarrie's lasting legacy.

Clarrie’s thoughtful contribution went towards the urgent refurbishment of the Brisbane Lifeline Centre. For the Crisis Supporters at this Centre, Clarrie’s gift provided a safe and comfortable working environment. One where they are able to unwind after answering a call.

Make a coffee during a late-night shift. Relax their bodies and feel ready to answer that next call for help. To keep someone safe and give them the support they need to go on to the next day. And for the Queenslanders reaching out to Lifeline for help, it means that their call is met by someone who is in a space to deliver greater care. The domino effect of Clarrie’s donation will influence more than just one person.

Clarrie’s gift will enable more fully-trained Crisis Supporters to help Queenslanders in need.

We are grateful for his generous support, an enduring gift to Lifeline and the people we support. Clarrie’s legacy as a humanitarian will live on through his generosity.
